The Blind May See.

The last three months have found me living in the bush, in a log cabin without power and therefore without distractions. It is only when we take ourselves away from society and all its pretty lights and endless entertainments that we find out who we truly are. To allow yourself to just be, no profile to update, no cat videos to watch mindlessly, where to call a friend you have to climb a hill and to entertain yourself you have to come up with an activity. It makes you realise just how creative you actually are, you discover the source of true inspiration, helping you to realise what is vital in your life and what you can live without. It is then that you realise you can live without a vast majority of the things that we have been lead to believe are so important. That all of these things we must supposedly accomplish before being ‘happy’ is mostly a crock of shit. You are free to live whatever life you choose, but it comes with its own challenge; the challenge to uncondition yourself from everything you had been conditioned to believe growing up in a society where the image you protray is more important to uphold then fully expressing your true self.
I do not wish to live a conventional life and so I will go about bush whacking my own path through this overgrown jungle. You can keep your paved roads and illuminated highways, I personally prefer the peaceful serenity of the forest, where the people who inhabit it are actively open and genuinely themselves.
I’m not saying everyone has to quit their job and run away into the bush in order to find themselves but it pays to be aware of just how much time you spend distracting yourself from what is actually important, what truly makes you happy. In order to live the life you choose you have to make a choice, its not about career or social stature, its about finding what you excel at, naturally, and turning into a way to live.
Sadness and loss are no stranger to me, for in order to find my true self I had to let go of who I thought I was. Clearing out all the weeds from the garden of my soul may leave it looking bare but it  is merely making room for all the magical twisted vines, vibrant flowers and gigantic ancient trees to breathe easy and grow taller and strong than ever before.
